Build a plaid or check from a real thread count, watch it weave thread by thread, and export a tile that repeats perfectly — with no watermark on it. The free tier needs an account and no card.
What the free tier includes
- The Sett engine. Plaid, tartan and every check in this family, built from thread counts you write — or read off a photograph of a real cloth.
- Every weave structure. Plain, 2/2, 3/1 and 2/1 twill, basket and herringbone, plus the loom editor for drawing your own draft on a grid up to 16 × 16.
- Eleven ready-made checks. Gingham, buffalo, houndstooth, shepherd's, district, glen, Prince of Wales, windowpane, tattersall, tartan and madras.
- Clean exports. Five a month, up to 1024px at 72 dpi, seamless by construction and with no watermark of any kind.
- 200 welcome tokens, then 40 a month for generating new results. Editing and exporting spend none.
- Ten palettes and a colourway that arrives in a share link.
What it does not include
Said plainly, so nobody pays to find out:
- Print resolution. 300 dpi and up, and tiles past 1024px, are paid.
- The other engines' exports. Watercolour and Pen come with Creator; Floral and GeoPrint with Pro. You can look at all of them on the free tier — what is paid is taking the file.
- Print and dye finishes (ikat, screen print, riso, lino and the rest) — Creator and above.
- Batch export of a whole colourway range in one zip, and saved palettes and colourway collections.
- Vector and spec output. SVG, the A4 CAD sheet and the WIF weaving draft are production files, and they are paid.

Is it really free?
Yes. The free tier needs an account but no card. It includes the Sett engine, every named weave structure and the custom draft editor, and five clean exports a month at up to 1024px and 72 dpi.
Are free exports watermarked?
No. No plan puts a watermark on an export. The free tier is limited in resolution, in how many exports a month, and in which engines it can export — not in the quality of what it gives you.
Can I sell patterns made on the free tier?
Yes. You own what you make on every plan, including Free, and may use it commercially. We do not guarantee marketplace income.
What do I need to pay for?
Print resolution (300 dpi and up), batch export, the Watercolour, Pen, Floral and GeoPrint engines' exports, the print and dye finishes, saved palettes and colourway collections.
What are tokens?
Tokens pay for generating a new result — one token each. Free opens with 200 welcome tokens and adds 40 a month. Working on the canvas and exporting cost no tokens.
